The Lady Prodigy AAU Classic Challenge Championships will be held in the Dallas/Ft.Worth area in the city of Mansfield,TX. The tournament will be an “Invitation Only” event with many top-level girls teams attending.
TOURNAMENT INFO
- May 25-27th, 2012 (Friday,Saturday, Sunday)
- Age groups: 5th-11th grade girl teams
- This Invitation only event is a Prestigious Showcase for Top girls teams from around the country. Rivals.com and Scout.com will be invited.
TOURNAMENT COST AND REGISTRATION
- $350 per team
- $99 non-refundable deposit holds your spot until April 15th. Teams must pay the complete balance by May 15th, 2012, NO EXCEPTIONS
- ALL teams must submit roster online. Rosters will be verified by an AAU national staff member.
- Teams are encouraged to pay online via “REGISTRATION” button in upper-left corner
Upon registering and committing a team to the tournament, please see tournament forms, by clicking here, regarding all tournament rules and procedures. If you are on the schedule, you are considered COMMITTED to the tournament.
FORMAT
- 11th grade – 1st 8 invited teams will be accepted
- 10th grade – 1st 8 invited teams will be accepted
- 9th grade – 1st 8 invited teams will be accepted
- 8th grade – 1st 8 invited teams will be accepted
- 7th grade – 1st 8 invited teams will be accepted
- 6th grade – 1st 8 invited teams will be accepted
- 5th grade – 1st 8 invited teams will be accepted
All teams will be guaranteed to continue playing (in a double-elimination bracket) after (1) challenge match-up game is complete. 3 game guaranteed.

HOW TO GET INVITED
Teams are invited by the following options in order:
- Teams who placed in the top 16 at aau national championship are invited first. If less than 8 teams in a grade register by Jan 1st, then remaining slots will be filled in the order below:
- Special invitations will be sent out to a pre-selected number of teams who were selected from the Selection Committee. If less than 8 teams in a grade is not registered by April 1st, then remaining slots will be filled in by the waiting list:

The idea is not to exclude teams, but to make this showcase tournament a competitive, national event, where teams from all over the country come to complete against some of the most skilled Girls’ basketball players in your age group.
NATIONAL BIDS BREAKDOWN
AUTOMATIC BIDS: The teams that finish first, second, third or fourth in the Classic Challenge Championship may receive a bid to the same grade division National Championship based upon the following:
First Place teams in each grade division receive *FREE* entry into AAU National Championships.
- 1st place Division I
- 2nd place Division I
- 3rd place Division I or Division II (teams choice)
- 4th place Division I or Division II (teams choice)
Teams that receive an invitation (Bid), from the Classic Challenge Championship to the National Championship shall participate in their District Championship to validate their bid for the National Championships. If a team receives an invitation (Bid), but is unable to participate in their District Championship, they must submit a written request stating the reason(s) they were unable to participate. The AAU Girls’ Basketball Committee will determine if the team is eligible to use their bid.
ADDITIONAL TOURNAMENT AWARDS
- 8th grade – 1st and 2nd place teams receive invite to 8th grade Super Showcase.
- 9th grade – 1st and 2nd place teams receive invite to AAU Elite Eight 9th Grade Girls Basketball Showcase as part of the ESPN RISE GIRLS SHOWCASE.
- 10th grade-1st and 2nd place teams receive invite to 10th grade Super Showcase.
- 11th grade-1st and 2nd place teams receive invite to 11th grade Super Showcase.
